The TCYC English Bay Scramble Weekend Regatta 2019
Tiddly Cove’s annual English Bay Scramble is the most interesting and popular sailboat race in Vancouver, and perhaps in the world. @me if you disagree! Now back with even more intensity - a second day of racing.
TCYC has issued a invitation to yacht clubs and sailors in the area to come and take on one of Vancouver's most difficult one day races (TCYC's English Bay Scramble) and then to go head to head with the great sailors of Vancouver in a day of short course, around the cans racing.
The TCYC English Bay Scramble will change! A bit. This year we have reverted to the original course design which requires racers to cross the start finish line after rounding any TWO of the course marks. We think this will add a bit more variety to courses and challenge racers a bit more. It remains a fun and approachable day of racing around the inner and outer reaches of English Bay, with a great party and awards for the best finishers in a variety of Divisions and one design classes. Results will count as part of the VARC Distance Series.
What TCYC is doing the next day is offering a second day of racing. Short course races will be scored as a VARC Regatta. Results from the two events (distance and short course) will be aggregated and will lead to awards and a Trophy awarded (at TCYC annual awards event) to the overall winner of the TCYC English Bay Scramble Weekend Regatta.
Post race BBQ, results and awards, door prizes and more on Saturday at Kitsilano Yacht Club. Tickets can be purchased with registration or here. Sunday post race activities, awards and a Weiner Roast hosted by Karen Weiner of Nest Real Estate Group at the False Creek Yacht Club.
