Do you think it would be a good idea for a person who has never set foot on a boat before to ‘try it out’ by signing up for a 5 week ocean race on a tall ship? How do you think it feels to stand on the end of a yard arm in 40 knots of breeze? Ever wonder how a wheelchair user climbs a mast? If you are curious about any of these questions, come along to the Tiddly Cove Yacht Club meeting on Thursday October 17 and find out. Nicola Lott is a mother, blue water sailor and recovering racer (though, terribly prone to relapses) who sailed on tall ships in Europe as a Bosun’s Mate while avoiding getting a real job. Today, she enjoys cruising with her family locally but can still be heard muttering inexplicable things in ‘British-sailor-eze’ from time to time.
Doors open 7:15PM, meeting begins at 8PM.
Cash bar, all welcome.
Free guest parking passes available from desk at South Entrance.
